PICS of MvE’s Bike Event II
Mt. Bachelor to 10 Barrel
Sept 29, 2013
THE YEAR IT SNOWED!!!!
What a C R A Z Y but thrilling day for the 29 riders who attended! I believe this was the year the elements won. We were fortunate to have all survived, injury free and smiling. This 26 mile ride from Dutchman Flats to 10 Barrel will definitely go down in the MvE history books!
We rode through snow, mud, deep puddles, freezing temperatures, fallen trees and high winds. Some dealt with flat tires, eight with no breaks, a broken chain and one broken crank. Two even hitchhiked to 10 Barrel!
Would we do it again? Hell yeah! We’d just wear more clothes and ski gloves, itt was freezing!!!!!!! Special thanks to 10 BARREL & their staff for taking such good care of us, sorry about the mud. G O O D T I ME S FOR SURE!

Beau and all
Thanks for the great day. You guys brought your A game this morning! Hope everyone survived. It was a true MvE eh?

I agree! Though frozen to the point I could no longer feel the pedals, use my hands to shift, or even talk once at 10 Barrel, I feel like a GLADIATOR. We overcame the elements as well as a slew of equipment malfunctions, and emerged victorious – all while the “women” cancelled and stayed home. Great job, men!

Talk about A game, any guy who breaks trail in 4-6 inches of snow uphill for 7 miles, and then has a fire going for the rest of us when we arrive at Swampy, that, my friends, is the A game! We will be telling our grandkids about ‘that Sunday in 2013…’ Great day everyone.

Beau, I will drop your stuff.
Like a dumbass I left my phone and camera in the truck.
Which is too bad because it was beautiful up there breaking trail in the snow. Oh well. Next year!
Thanks again

And how about Daryl being first man to arrive at 10 Barrel, and having to ride without breaks from Swede through the finish…watching him ride side saddle with one foot on his peddle and one foot dragging the ground for his break, and with a smile on his face the whole way. I swear I saw smoke coming from his foot just above Whoops. Damn!
Great day yesterday gents… a day we will forever remember. Beau, thanks for getting it coordinated as always.
Rumor has it 10 Barrel had to bring in a fire hose to clean up all the grime we left behind– Kudos to 10 Barrel for all they did as well.
Cheers,

Nice work MvE! Truly the best one yet!
10 barrel needs their own version of the Swedish Bikini Team to ride in and staff support at the warming huts.

These events would not happen if GREAT friends like you all didn’t all commit and show up! I commend you all for being so adventurous and so stupid at the same time. HAHA! We took the worst elements head on. And Matt, 23 miles to go, you snap your chain and say, “fuck it, I’m finishing.” that’s a true warrior. Brett breaks down, heads to town, gets it fixed and comes back up to ride with everyone – warrior! Flat tires, no breaks by Jerry W., Brian R. & Johnny O’ and all of us made it. A M A Z I N G ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! We are all warriors today! What an epic trip.
