ABOUT MVE
What is Man vs. Elements (MvE)? – It’s about 80+ guys on an email list, mostly from Bend, Oregon. All older, out of shape, married w/kids blah, blah, beer, blah beer… While everyone was having kids, nobody had time to get together so, Beau Killett (flounder) created Man vs. Elements (MvE). Because “Friends don’t let friends do stupid stuff, alone.” 🙂–

Where the f** are we?
In 2010, six brave men skied out of Dutchman Flats into the unknown with the hopeful destination of Elk Lake Resort. Conditions were a white out and this had never been done so they were constantly questioning their whereabouts though on the main road the whole time. Blistered, battered and physically fatigued, they reached the resort and swore never do it again… And the rest continues to be written in yellow snow. Man vs. Elements (MvE) has grown each and every year. Why? Because we frickin’ rock! Hopefully we’ll inspire our kids to get together with a bunch of their buds and do stupid stuff because friendships IMO are as important as family. We now have 5 annual events: Ski 2 Elk Lake Trips, Depoe Bay Fish & Gamble Trips, Bike to Bend Trips, Poor Man’s Golf & Gamble Trips and the Wild Piglet Scooter Rallies!–
BE YE WARNED!
These events will test the very limits of your masculinity! You may be forced to endure treacherous seas, bitter cold, road rage, smoky casinos, and gasp!…watered down beer. Our trips are organized by our founder and thus, faithful servant, Beau Killett, who accepts nothing but gratitude for his efforts on our behalf (& maybe a 6pack or cigar!). We seek out only the cheapest roachmotels, fish with rotten bait, ski on un-waxed skis, bike with cobwebbed gears, drink and gamble like Rambo.
We would like to thank our wives and girlfriends who allow us to go on these silly trips, and we hope they will continue to let us go in the future. As such, we fully support “Women vs. Wine” and “Shop till you Drop” weekends that our significant others regularly partake in aka Women vs. Man vs. Elements (all in fun). 🙂

TRIP COSTS!
“It’s the people who make these trips so the GOAL is to make them all as affordable as possible so everyone can attend. I don’t believe events need to cost a lot of money. As the coordinator, any extra perks I get from a business gets distributed back to everyone equally. EXAMPLE: Our fish trips, we all carpool there and cram everyone into these small rooms, sometimes adding a cot – like sardines in a can; like REAL fisherman – AAaarrgh! Nobody gets a good night sleep but who needs it when you party all night then getting up at 6am in the morning to fish?
Did I mention there’s a 1st to puke award?”
