🎉 On Saturday, February 7th, Man vs Elements plus the ladies wrapped our 16th annual Ski to Elk Lake and honestly, we were lucky it even happened. With how little snow we had this year, we got lucky.
Fifteen skiers left Nordic at 9am and rolled in 1:40 later on the iciest fastest snow we have ever seen.
Weather was iffy and a bit chilly but held until rain hit right at arrival. Just as we planned it!
Highlights
• 14 skiers finished (started with 18 a week prior but… We are getting old.)
• Very little snow, icy and insanely fast
• Jerry heroically fell six times and walked most of the big hills purely to keep us on pace otherwise we would have arrived too early. Thanks Jerry! 🤣
• Geoff made the Todd Lake photo then smartly turned around
• Er, uh… No charging Devil’s Lake this year, it was NOT frozen over.
• Newbies Mathias and Julie crushed it and rocked the Nordic stickers
• Big thanks to Libby and ELR for the family friendly vibes, W/kids and dogs walking around the restaurant, made us feel right at home. 🙏
• James G. made the trek down from Portland & brought celebratory stogies! Woo hoo!
• LCR winners: Jen Wall, Summer Hornbeck, Julie Amberg, Dirk Renner, Keith Kessaris
• Super Bowl winners: Geoff Wall (1st Q & final), Summer Hornbeck (2nd Q), Danny Evans (3rd Q)
• The new Sno-cats were way more comfortable and the big one could fit 15 Skiers.
