WHAT A TRIP!!! The infamous “hill spills” at Devil’s Lake are 3:00 into vid – click here. 20 brave men from Bend, trekked the treacherous 11+ mile deep, un-groomed & doomed terrain while heavy snowfall, wild winds, snowmobiles, snow cats and melting lakes tried to thwart them. Just another typical year for MvE’s 8th Annual Ski to Elk Lake Trip! This year took us 5 hours to get to Elk Lake Resort thanks to John and Jerry’s “rental de’ accidental” ski swap in the beginning of our leg (ask them for the story, too long to tell) but nothing a few extra beers, laughs & whiskey couldn’t fix. 🙂
In my opinion, the BEST SKI TRIP YEAR TO DATE! The hardest elements we faced was the 45 min snow-cat ride back… It took mad skills to keep in our lunches, though some felt compelled to stop the vehicle, run out & call the elephants or you know, feed the native birds. 😉
